Nabin Trital is the Managing Director of Expedition Himalaya.com. Nabin has twenty years of expertise in the sector and has worked in it since the beginning. In addition to being a successful entrepreneur, he is a Himalayan explorer and organizer of expeditions, tours, and treks.
The first expedition Nabin led was a successful Mount Everest expedition. Since then, he has led trips to Mount Everest and other summits on an annual basis. Nabin, who works in the tourism industry, has traveled to the Netherlands, Spain, Cambodia, USA, London, Canada, China, Russia, Dubai, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand, among other countries, as part of his involvement in the marketing and promotion of tourism in Nepal, both on his own and in collaboration with various organizations, including the Nepal Tourism Board. From 2019 to 2021, Nabin served as Vice President of the Trekking Agency Association of Nepal (TAAN).
He is also an executive board member of the Expedition Operator Association, a general member of the Nepal Mountaineering Association, a founding member of the High-Altitude Mountain Worker Welfare Association, and a member of the Skal Club of Kathmandu
(a club for high tourism entrepreneurs). Nabin has been actively engaging in several trainings and staying ahead with leadership trainings, group management trainings, and other tourism-related workshops and conventions. In addition to operating tours and expeditions, Nabin has practiced sustainable tourism and social responsibility by supporting community-based local businesses that adopt environmentally friendly practices and by organizing numerous trainings for mountain people and communities to build their skills and their careers.
Da Gelje Sherpa (Dawa) is Expedition Himalaya’s, Expedition Director. He is a renowned Himalayan explorer, mountaineer and expedition organizer as well as a successful entrepreneur. He was born in Solu-Khumbu, in the foothills of the world’s highest peak, Sagarmatha (Mount Everest). He has 46 years of direct involvement in the profession, beginning as a porter and progressing to the assistant chef, trekking guide, and now Expedition Director at Expedition Himalaya.com, which was founded in 2011. Dawa was a pioneer in the professionalization of the trekking and climbing industry in Nepal. He has summited Everest seven times (from both Nepal and Tibet), Dhaulagiri, Cho-Oyu five times, Sishapangma eight times, and many other 8000m peaks. He has also worked to promote Nepal as a PATA Nepal representative as well as being a representative of the Nepal Tourist Board, traveling to the United States and other countries to attend tourism-related seminars, conferences, trade shows, and festivals. For the last 15 years, he has been an active President of the High-Altitude Mountain Worker Welfare Association (HAMWWA). Along with HAMWWA, he has been involved with the Welfare Committee of the Nepal Mountaineering Association, working for the welfare of climbers, and delivering relief materials at difficult moments such as the earthquake and Covid-19. He is active in a variety of social impact activities and has worked on a number of school construction projects in rural Nepal, allowing hundreds of pupils to learn more comfortably than previously. Along with school construction efforts, he has personally supported underprivileged youngsters in their education and in reaching their goals.​
Ian has 30 years of experience helping organizations address their strategic challenges. He started his career with Price Waterhouse and following his MBA moved on to hold Partner roles in several well-known strategy and growth advisory firms. He has worked extensively in Europe, the USA, Gulf, and Asia and worked in 30 different industry segments with over 200 clients.
Ian is currently CEO of Strategy Global, a boutique advisory firm focused on helping clients in the areas of strategy, innovation and venture scale-up. Strategy has a presence in the UK, Europe, India and Brazil. As well as his business career, Ian has been active in the area of trekking and mountaineering in Nepal for over 30 years. He founded and successfully ran a small specialized trekking and climbing firm for many years, and worked with Expedition Himalaya as his in-country operator. He now works with Expedition Himalaya in an advisory capacity, giving advice both on international marketing and also on brand positioning.
Ian has extensive knowledge of the Nepal tourism industry and deep connections to the mountain communities. He continues to visit and climb regularly in Nepal. For the last 15 years, he has been an active President of the High-Altitude Mountain Worker Welfare Association (HAMWWA). Along with HAMWWA, he has been involved with the Welfare Committee of the Nepal Mountaineering Association, working for the welfare of climbers, and delivering relief materials at difficult moments such as the earthquake and Covid-19.
