Mount Ama Dablam

Our story is that about promoting ethical mountaineering… 

Mount Ama Dablam, also known as “Mother’s Necklace,” in the Sherpa language, is a majestic mountain which stands at an altitude of 6812 meters (22,349 ft). The mountain is situated in the Khumbu region of Nepal, which lies in the northeastern part of the country. Ama Dablam offers a majestic view of Mt. Everest, the world’s highest mountain, and Mt. Lhotse, Fourth highest mountain. It is also known for its remarkable beauty and technical challenges.

Climbing History

1961-  Successful ascent of Ama Dablam by a team of four climbers Mike Gill, Barry   Bishop, Mike Ward and Wally Romanes via the Southwest Ridge.

1981-  Solo Ascent by famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner

1983-  First winter ascent by three South Korean mountaineers Nam Sun-Woo, Lim Byung-Kil and Kim Young- Soo via the standard southwest ridge

2001-  Speed record on Ama Dablam’s south ridge by Swiss mountaineer Ueli Steck

2001-  First ascent of Ama Dablam’s challenging North Ridge by a Japanese team
