Explore Tibet’s vast countryside to the fullest extent possible. Climb the passes that are the most challenging. After completing the pilgrimage circuit around Mount Kailash, it is customary to bathe in the holy waters of Lake Mansarovar. This journey is packed with excitement and variety, ranging from the Tibetan culture to the rugged and varied landscapes that are traversed on the way to some of Asia’s holiest mountain peaks.
Climbing History
1961- Successful ascent of Ama Dablam by a team of four climbers Mike Gill, Barry Bishop, Mike Ward and Wally Romanes via the Southwest Ridge.
1981- Solo Ascent by famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner
1983- First winter ascent by three South Korean mountaineers Nam Sun-Woo, Lim Byung-Kil and Kim Young- Soo via the standard southwest ridge
2001- Speed record on Ama Dablam’s south ridge by Swiss mountaineer Ueli Steck
2001- First ascent of Ama Dablam’s challenging North Ridge by a Japanese team
